JKC Engineering was awarded a contract with the State of Wyoming Forestry Division in the Spring of 2010 to provide surveying services to establish, monument, and provide documentation of survey monuments described for the Steamboat Point Survey Project. This project was located in a township that was originally surveyed in the early 1900's. JKC performed the survey using both GPS and robotic surveying methods being performed in a varied environment consisting of heavy tree cover and mountainous terrain, some of which was extreme, making this project very physically challenging.

Teamed with JUB Engineers, who were contracted by the City of Casper, JKC Engineering provided surveying services for the design phase of the project. As part of the Old Yellowstone District Improvements, Collins Street is a major artery of the City of Casper and the community will benefit from the improvements related to this project. JKC services included topographic surveying and base drawing production, right-of-way determination, easement exhibits, and once construction starts we will provide inspection services on the project as required by the City Engineers Office.

During the winter of 2008-2009 JKC conducted a bolt-pattern survey on the exhaust fans at the Jim Bridger Power Plant. Power plant engineers used the information to design replacement fan assemblies. This one-of-a-kind survey was accomplished using a Trimble S6 Robotic Total Station and simple tools like a plumb-bob and offset tools to measure points under the fans while they were still in operation. The survey team at JKC is proud to have accomplished such a intricate task while working in less than ideal surveying conditions and look forward to our next challenge of this type.

In the Spring of 2010 JKC Engineering, under contract with the State of Wyoming Forestry Division, provided surveying services to establish, monument, and document survey monuments described for the Mill Creek Survey Project. This project, located in a township that was originally surveyed in the 1890's, consisted of a relatively challenging recovery. JKC performed the survey using both GPS and robotic surveying methods being performed in a varied environment consisting of heavy tree cover and mountainous terrain and many of the original stone monuments were recovered.
